I have played this with my children many times and they are just challenging enough to keep their interest. I'll admit that they are fun for grown ups too.
They force the child to think, use creativity, and yet there is no pressure or stress with time limits. Can't rave about these Humongous games enough - they are just awesome for kids. I am so excited to see this game here. We have almost all of the Putt Putt, Pajama Sam, and Freddie Fish games on disc, but they won't play in any of our computers (they don't run on anything newer than Windows XP). Now my kids can play on any of our computers.
I'll have to look for Pajama Sam and Spy Fox, as those are their favorite games. I will be purchasing all of these for my children!
Rated 5 out of 5 by canderson246 from Childhood favorite I used to play this along with Spy Fox and Freddie Fish when I was a kid, indicating, yes I am a teenager currently. I remember this game vividly and if I do believe so, I still have it as well as my old Macintosh computer. I still call Apple computers Macs. I replayed this for the longest time with never ending fun filled 'challenges' So i wouldn't be buying it as I have it. But it was a dang good game for kids. I highly recommend it. Kids these days with iPads and such playing weird un logical games destroying their mind need to get off that and play some classic good educational games that also have a giant fun factor.
Too bad I cant remember this one game I used to play that I absolutely adored as a child. Something really tactical for children with cogs and a lot of cars and building and such (I am a girl just for your information) as well as this robot game. Oh well, I highly recommend this childhood favorite for kids about 3-8 even though I played it well into the ages of ten but with kids these days.yeah. Good luck and have fun to those who buy it. Rated 5 out of 5 by Kirland from Putt-Putt One Of The Best Games For Children I gave this a five star as it is right up there with some of the best games in problem solving for children. As others have stated, this is an older game but nevertheless so much fun for children. I played this with my daughter when she was small and now am playing it with my grandson.
The adventures of Freddi Fish, Sly Fox, Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt are great ways to introduce your child to values of sharing and caring for others. Big Fish I really hope to see more of these games from the developer as I will purchase them all. Rated 5 out of 5 by squigglyhopper from Blast from the Past Oh My God I remember playing this game back in 1995, I was seven years old. I never thought I'd see it again, how nice to see it pop up on bigfishgames. This game was so fun and entertaining, maybe more for kids, but I'd play it again now if simply for nostalgia.
It's a solving puzzle kind of game where you play a cute little car and have several tasks to solve. One of them I remember was rescuing an animal from a waterfall and you had to use rope and stuff to do so. I must buy it and refresh my memory properly. I'd love to see more games from 1995 back please bigfish? Those games are the happiest memories of my childhood (which is a bit sad I suppose). Rated 5 out of 5 by RobinLea from Nostalgia!!Definately for young kids so grab them and play! This is a game from 1995 keep that in mind.
This is for kids but I am 51, bought it played it in 2 hours and had a ball. I remember playing this game on Windows 95 as it was a dos based game.
Sitting with my 3 year old daughter having a ball together. These are so educational for kids and way ahead of its time really. Other games around this time were Spy Fox, Freddi Fish and Fatty Bear. So expert players or people without kids game not for you but if you have kids or grand kids grab them and play and click on everything because cute little things pop up all over. Especially click the 3 Green Topiary animals at the zoo gate for the classic 'welcome to the zoo song' I rate this 5 stars based on the fact it is for kids and 5 stars for me personally for nostalgia. Click on the animals speaker boxes for great facts to educate the youngsters. Made me want to run upstairs fire up the old jewel case computer and whip out all those old games that we still have!
Rated 5 out of 5 by majandess from 'Mommy, I Love Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo.' Personally, I can tell you that this isn't my game. I've outgrown the toys I thought were awesome when I was five.
My son, on the other hand, just turned five, and he thinks Putt-Putt is awesome. My son likes the story and spends a lot of time talking to me about what's going on. The fact that the characters are mostly animals is really appealing to him.
A variety of animals allows for a bunch of different settings that make the game interesting. He also empathizes with the babies who are lost, and feels really good about saving them. There are a couple of mini-games that he finds fun to play - animal tag and ice hockey (animal tag has three difficulties). There are lots of clickable things in each scene, and my son gets a kick out of giving Putt-Putt a new paint job.
There's also a surprising bit of problem-solving to be done. Orders of operations that I find simple and boring can be quite the challenge for him. It's easy for me to forget that what's logical and simple for me hasn't yet developed as a skill in my son. This game has been available on other platforms for some time, so my son has had the chance to play it over and over again. Because he's beaten the game, I keep thinking that he'll lose interest, but amazingly, he keeps coming back to it.
